First Blog Post

Alright. I'm new to the whole blog thing, so I'm not sure how this is going to go. This is more of a personal life type thing mixed with lessons I learn every now and then, so if you're not into those sorts of posts, then I apologize in advance.

Some interesting things happened today. I went to visit my parents for the day, and I helped my dad with some yard work and things while my mom and aunt made food for dinner.
When I got inside, I decided to help my aunt make a caramel apple cheesecake dessert thing that she found on Facebook(will include a link to the recipe as well). The first thing she did was bake the crust in a casserole dish that she borrowed from my sister. When she took the dish out of the oven, she set it down on top of the stove to cool and went to finish the rest of the dessert. But, out of nowhere, the dish just shattered into a million pieces for no apparent reason! Scared the crap out of all of us, that's for sure. Apparently, my sister bought the dish for a very low price, and it shows because it was clearly cheaply made. We got out a different one after cleaning up the mess, and we continued on with the afternoon. By the way, the finished dessert was delicious -- and no glass inside it!
I guess a lesson that can be taken away from this experience is, when you get to a point in your adult life where you have to buy such mundane items as a casserole dish, it's wise to just bite the bullet and spend your money on a quality product. Otherwise, you just might end up with shattered glass all over your kitchen.

On a side note, I'm getting the results from my Anatomy exam tomorrow, but more on that next time.

Here's a link to that dessert recipe!
