There hasn't been a whole lot of crazy in the last week. This week is just going to be more school, more work, and getting ready to go to Kansas City for a Chiefs game with the family! That'll be pretty exciting(even though we'll probably lose).

Birthday week - Late post
I'm 2 days late with my weekly post! This last week has just been crazy!
Tuesday night, my sister and her boyfriend went with me to the Dustin Lynch concert in Ames. He is absolutely amazing! Definitely a show I would LOVE to see again.
My 21st birthday was on Wednesday, and it was a blast! The family all went out to eat, and my brothers took me out after! It was a slow night given that it was a Wednesday, but still fun!
The rest of the week was kind of a blur, given all of the birthday excitement.
Then on Saturday, the whole family went out again to actually celebrate my birthday. Talk about a good time! We danced and drank...a lot! And then we all went to Denny's afterwards. I spent most of Sunday recovering, and we went to my grandpa's for some delicious barbecue Sunday night!!
And since I'm two days late anyways, I might as well mention the hell I went through yesterday. I was on my way to work and was driving down the road, and it sounded like I hit something with my car. I didn't see anything in the road, so I was really confused. But as I got further down the road, something sounded funny, so I pulled over to check out my car. I apparently must have hit something because my rear driver's-side tire was completely flat! Just my luck! Thankfully, some nice man came by and helped me change the tire, but the spare was a tiny little thing compared to the truck tires on my SUV. And on top of that, the freaking spare was low on air, and apparently has a little leak! So I had to go to work and dread going home with a crappy tire, but I made it alright. Hopefully my roommates will wake up at some point today so that I can take my car somewhere and replace the stupid tire. Yay me.

Birthday Anticipation
This week overall has been pretty great, but there were also some parts that made me want to tear my hair out!
Let's start with the negatives so that I can end on a good note and go to bed happy!
This week was homecoming week in Ankeny, so I knew that my nights would be busy. I was nowhere prepared for what happened...
Most of the week wasn't too bad, but Friday night was probably one of the worst nights I've had in the time I've worked at my current job. It would have been fine, but for some reason one of my young employees was sent home early, before hell resurfaced in my parking lot. Also, one of my closers went home sick, so I went from having 5 people it was just 3, myself included. Anyway, 2 buses full of teenagers came into my store at around 11:15(we closed at midnight since it was Friday). While they were filing in the door, a bunch of cars were coming through the drive-thru and more customers coming inside. Since there was just the 3 of us, I couldn't get the orders filled until I had taken every order. 45 minutes later I finished the last order of the bus kids and got them all out of the building, but of course there were those people that came in at like 5 minutes to midnight and decided not to take theirs to go, even though they knew that we closed in 5 minutes. I locked the doors and was finally able to get my work done at like 12:10. It was such a struggle getting everything done, and I got home at about 1:30am. Not the best night.
Enough of that; let's get to the exciting stuff!
I FINALLY got another tattoo! I had been wanting to get a Star Wars related tattoo for such a long time, but I had no idea where to go. This week chance was on my side. The tattoo shop that my sister goes to has an artist who absolutely loves Star Wars, even has a few tattoos paying homage to the legendary film saga. Despite this, she had never done one on anybody. I was only too happy to be her first! I set up an appointment with her to get a Death Star on my shoulder, so by the time I got there on Wednesday she had already drawn up the stencil and everything! A swift hour and a half later, I had my newest piece of body art all finished. I was so happy with it, and the artist was thrilled that she finally got to do a Star Wars tattoo! I told her not to worry, and I'd be back for more in no time.
Here is the finished product(still healing, so the photo doesn't do it justice).
In addition to that, my 21st birthday is in 3 days!! So excited!
That's all for now I guess.

What a stressful week!
Some crazy things have happened this week. unfortunately, not all were crazy in a good way. Let's start with school.
I found out on Monday that I got a C+ on my Anatomy test that I had been dreading. Not the grade I was hoping for, but it was definitely higher than I expected. On Tuesday, I took an exam for Microbiology, and I felt a bit more confident about that one. I found out Thursday that, with the help of a nice grading curve and some extra credit, I got a 90% on that test, so go me! Also, I bought another laptop this week. It's a lot smaller than my other one, so I could take it to class and (hopefully) be more productive. I guess we'll see if I was right when it comes time for my next set of exams in a couple weeks or so. So there were some positives there.
Now, let's move on to my work week.
The week as a whole wasn't too bad, but Wednesday made up for the extent of the crappiness of the whole week. Now, the Arby's that I work at is one of the busier stores in the Des Moines area, and during the school year Wednesdays can get pretty busy, especially when the local youth groups pay us a visit. This week happened to be one of the high schools' homecoming weeks, so I predicted that we would be busy because of that as well. I was supposed to have a new closer that night, so I was a little worried about getting things done. Well, I had him take his break at about 6:45pm. Around 15 minutes later, one of my employees notified me that he wasn't back yet, and his car wasn't even in the parking lot(since our breaks are only 15 minutes, we generally aren't allowed to leave the store). He just left! Without telling anyone! So I was left without someone to close the kitchen, and none of my other employees there knew how to, and they also had school in the morning as are teenagers. I was a sight to behold that night. I kept thinking to myself that if I ever saw this guy again, I would probably get arrested for assault and battery.
Despite that horrible thing, my awesome employees all stayed well beyond the time their shifts ended to help me close the store. I'm thankful that I have such good kids working with me, but it shouldn't be their responsibility to pick up the slack of grown adults that can't do their jobs!
On another note, one of my roommates have become obsessed with playing board games. I have no idea why. But just about every day for the last week and a half, we have been playing board games, usually late at night. However, up until yesterday, all we had was a bunch of different versions of Monopoly. Playing Monopoly every day for long periods of time is really annoying, in case anyone ever thinks of trying it. However, I have to recommend Monopoly Empire, because there is a maximum of 4 players at a time, and the game doesn't take nearly as long as regular Monopoly! Oh and side note: I have NEVER one a game of Monopoly. Ever.
Oh yes, I can't forget about the weekend I had.
I made plans to go out to dinner with this guy I had been talking to. He's a little younger than me, and I told him that I didn't want a relationship, but he wanted to go out anyway, which was fine with me. Anyway, we had planned that he would pick me up around 6 after he got off work at 4. Okay, cool. So I got ready, and made myself actually look nice for once, and then at around 7:30 he calls me and says, "Well I guess you don't want to go to dinner because you didn't text me, so do you want to just go hang out at my friends house?"
Now, I'm thinking to myself, I have been sitting here for over an hour waiting for his ass; I didn't realize I had to confirm our plans for the 5th time. And no I don't feel like having him pick me up and drive me to his friend's house, whom I've never met. No thanks. So I told him no I don't really want to do that. So he hangs up on me! Whatever, so I went to Des Moines to hang out with a friend of mine instead, but that was extremely boring cause apparently there was "nothing to do"(his words, not mine), so I went back home. Big waste of time. And then, the guy I was supposed to go out with texted me later that night saying he still wanted to talk to me; he was just upset that I didn't want to hang out. Like, I'm sorry but I'm not going to hang out with a guy I barely know at a complete stranger's house! Who does that?!
So, yeah. Weird week for me. I think I've finally realized why I have been single for over a year. Hopefully this coming week will be much better.
Counting down the days until my 21st birthday! 10 more left!!!!

First Blog Post
Alright. I'm new to the whole blog thing, so I'm not sure how this is going to go. This is more of a personal life type thing mixed with lessons I learn every now and then, so if you're not into those sorts of posts, then I apologize in advance.
Some interesting things happened today. I went to visit my parents for the day, and I helped my dad with some yard work and things while my mom and aunt made food for dinner.
When I got inside, I decided to help my aunt make a caramel apple cheesecake dessert thing that she found on Facebook(will include a link to the recipe as well). The first thing she did was bake the crust in a casserole dish that she borrowed from my sister. When she took the dish out of the oven, she set it down on top of the stove to cool and went to finish the rest of the dessert. But, out of nowhere, the dish just shattered into a million pieces for no apparent reason! Scared the crap out of all of us, that's for sure. Apparently, my sister bought the dish for a very low price, and it shows because it was clearly cheaply made. We got out a different one after cleaning up the mess, and we continued on with the afternoon. By the way, the finished dessert was delicious -- and no glass inside it!
I guess a lesson that can be taken away from this experience is, when you get to a point in your adult life where you have to buy such mundane items as a casserole dish, it's wise to just bite the bullet and spend your money on a quality product. Otherwise, you just might end up with shattered glass all over your kitchen.
On a side note, I'm getting the results from my Anatomy exam tomorrow, but more on that next time.
Here's a link to that dessert recipe!
